Notice to declare surplus

Authorizing the Metropolitan Council to declare the following properties previously adjudicated to East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, surplus property, and to authorize the sale of said properties to the indicated persons, their agents or assigns for the consideration mentioned (Minimum Bid Amount), or to the highest offer or who submits their offer with a certified check or money order in the amount indicated by 2:00 p.m. on September 17, 2008. If more than one (1) offer for any particular piece of property is received, all parties who have submitted an offer with the required deposit shall be allowed to submit additional verbal bids at the Auction that will be held on the first floor of the Governmental Building at the Security Desk at 3:00 p.m. on September 17,  2008:

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO DECLARE ADJUDICATED TAX PROPERTY SURPLUS AND TO SELL SAME UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF LSA-R.S. 33:4720.10 ET SEQ AND LSA-R.S. 33:4712.

Notice is hereby given that the Metropolitan Council has received a request to declare the above listed property surplus and no longer needed for public purpose. These properties have previously been adjudicated to the Parish of East Baton Rouge for unpaid taxes. Anyone wishing to offer a higher price for the property, or wishing to oppose the property being declared surplus, or wishing to oppose the sale must file a written offer or written opposition with the Council Administrator, c/o The Parish Attorney’s Office, Room 902, Governmental Building, 222 St. Louis Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 70801, by 2:00 P.M. by the date stated, Anyone wishing to offer an amount greater than the minimum bid indicated below for the property shall submit with his offer, a certified check or money order in the amount of the deposit indicated below, payable to the Parish of East Baton Rouge. If more than one (1) offer for any particular piece of property is received, all parties who have submitted an offer with the required deposit shall be allowed to submit additional verbal bids at the Auction that will be held on the first floor of the Governmental Building at the Security Desk at 3:00, on date stated. The Metropolitan Council at 4:00 p.m. at the following scheduled Full Council meeting, after a public hearing shall decide whether to declare the property surplus and whether to accept the high bid.
